Description:

We are looking for a creative and motivated person with architectural experience. Our primary projects are residential that involve both interior and exterior spaces. Ideal applicants should be comfortable taking the lead on architecture-heavy projects and communicating with clients and working through permitting. Interested applicants will have opportunities to spend time in the field seeing projects through conception to finished product.

Work is primarily done at our Albany office with some remote work flexibility. We work collaboratively as a team and enjoy creating a fun office environment.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with others within the firm and design professionals to take drawings from conceptual design through permitting and construction

  • Field measuring to create base plans

  • Client communication

  • Assist in both design and construction phases of projects

  • Coordinate with the Construction Project Manager and Foreman

  • Sheppard projects through permitting

  • Periodic site visits and inspections

  • Create interior and exterior finish material presentation boards for clients

  • Manage architectural detail library

Skills:

  • Knowledge of building and construction practices

  • Interest in innovative and sustainable methods of building

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks software preferred

  • Strong graphic and oral communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Self-motivated, flexible, and eager to learn

  • A passion for building things

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Architecture, Design or Construction

  • 5+ years experience in the field of Architecture and/or Building
